I have grown up with it because my mom is a huge fan. I however cannot stand country music. Most of the time the talent is limited and the lyrics are terrible. They are always about some truck, dog, tractor, or cheating man. I do not know why people like that.
Not to put a fine point on this, but this is the cliche definition of country, and as such, it's not necessarily so.
Not that country is one of my favorite genres - it isn't - but like most musical styles, it does have its good songs and artists. I enjoy, although in small doses, singers such as Hoyt Axton, Johnny Cash, Crystal Gayle, Garth Brooks, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard.
Besides, I used to love annoying my last ex by playing "Okie from Muskogee" because she hated the song.

My favorite pop/rock video: Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" (from Storm Front). Also watchable if rather odd is his video for "Keeping the Faith."
My favorite videos aren't rock though. I tend to like movie music ones more, so my fave music videos more likely than not involve John Williams. Not necessarily his Star Wars ones, because he did one for Born on the Fourth of July that really is good.

My favorite Beatle is also John, I have long hair, trying to make it look like his hehe
And well, my favorite song from them is here comes the sun, but I love everything, they were amazing!
Did you know " Here Comes the Sun" was written by George after they had a successful meeting with David Bowie? They went outside afterwards...
Leighdu, your knowledge about the Fab Four is, in a word, impressive. Most impressive.
I like Here Comes the Sun, too, but my favorite Beatles song is "Hey, Jude," which is closely followed by "Eleanor Rigby' and "She's Leaving Home."

I was born in 1963, so I caught only the tail end of The Beatles' career as a very young boy. They broke up when I was seven and, because I was living in South America, I didn't speak or understand English. It was only a few months before John Lennon's murder that I really got into them...fell in love with "Hey Jude" and "Eleanor Rigby," and the rest is history.
What is your favourite genre of music? Mine is gothic metal. Though that may make you think of guys screaming their heads off, gothic metal is really nothing like that. It is mostly more mellow metal with deep moody lyrics often pertaining to tragedy and love.
Oh, dear. My favorite (or, if you prefer, "favourite") genres are more or less genteel compared to yours. I like what is called "adult contemporary" (nothing to do with porn) or "soft rock/pop." Examples: Billy Joel, Elton John, Melissa Manchester. I also like, if you don't mind my saying so, "classic rock," e.g. The Beatles, The Byrds, The Mamas and the Papas, Paul McCartney & Wings, Don McLean, and Simon & Garfunkel. I am also a big fan of classical music (Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Berlioz, etc) and film scores.
