I think they are the greatest band ever, they started the rock, which has "developed" to what we know today, they are just the best in my opinion, I have the whole discography here Smiley

Ah, I posted a thread similar to this before I saw this one, but I do agree. The Beatles are the best. There is no other band like them even though they are often emulated and probably will be for years and years to come. Who is your favorite Beatle? Mine is definitely John, but I like all the guys.

Man I love The Beatles, those guys are brilliant, only time they screwed up was when they started saying they were bigger than Jesus, but thats old news.

I loved the song "Yellow Submarine" as a kid, hav'nt heard it in well over a decade.

Did you know " Here Comes the Sun" was written by George after they had a successful meeting with David Bowie? They went outside afterwards and it was a brilliant sunny day, and the song was created.

Gotta love John and his long hair! Are you growing the beard too ?

His quote definitely wasn't the right thing to say according to Southern Christians in the US, but I think it was taken completely out of context. He wasn't saying that he was bigger than Jesus per say, but he was saying that The Beatles were more popular at the time, and during that time Christianity was on the decline from the way it was a decade ago.  What gets me the most is that these so called Christians who preach to love everyone and help the fellow man see the errors of his way in a loving way, were calling The Beatles all kinds of atrocious names, spitting on their pictures, and burning their music. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me.

Leighdu, your knowledge about the Fab Four is, in a word, impressive.  Most impressive.

I like Here Comes the Sun, too, but my favorite Beatles song is "Hey, Jude," which is closely followed by "Eleanor Rigby' and "She's Leaving Home."

There are a few Beatles songs I enjoy, however I am not a huge fan.  I know, they are loved by many old and young and I will probably catch some slack over not caring too much for them, but I have always gone my own way when it has come to music.  Of course my favorite song by the Beatles would have the oddest title, probably of all their songs, “Obla Di Obla Da.”

I did not know that!
That is a nice story, I'd never think David Bowie (another great singer) would have something to do with The Beatles Smiley
My beard can grow in a few days, I'll wait for the hair first hehe Cheesy
