Best genre

What is your favourite genre of music? Mine is gothic metal. Though that may make you think of guys screaming their heads off, gothic metal is really nothing like that. It is mostly more mellow metal with deep moody lyrics often pertaining to tragedy and love.

I love metal with the likes of megadeth and metalica, sabath, but not really much of Gothic metal.. I am a speed enthusiast so thrash metal and heavy metal is my type.

Wow, I felt like I could have written this exact post myself (well said Killian). I agree, it is up to each individual and what they feel is the best genre for them personally. I too love classic rock and the 60's genre, especially The Beatles.  I like 80's rock but I really prefer alternative 80's such as The Cure and Depeche Mode.

I like a large amount of easy-listening and chillout music, especially if its melancholic. Like the Chateau Aiguille theme in the game SaGa Frontier.

Oh, dear. My favorite (or, if you prefer, "favourite") genres are more or less genteel compared to yours.  I like what is called "adult contemporary" (nothing to do with porn) or "soft rock/pop."  Examples: Billy Joel, Elton John, Melissa Manchester.  I also like, if you don't mind my saying so, "classic rock," e.g. The Beatles, The Byrds, The Mamas and the Papas, Paul McCartney & Wings, Don McLean, and Simon & Garfunkel.  I am also a big fan of classical music (Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Berlioz, etc) and film scores.
